Cities and ports as cultural melting pots, was the starting point for Fall Winter 2019. The assertive Rodebjer woman is a modern nomad, finding her inner strength in the trio of spirit animals; crane, the scarab-beetle and the snake, drawing on their diverse qualities as a source of energy. Combining rich minimalism and strong silhouettes, this collection encapsulates the traveling free spirit.
e cultural symbolism and associated qualities a ached to each spirit animal are revealed through cuts, fabrics and rich colour palettes, reflecting Rodebjer’s innate spirituality. The crane and the scarab-beetle are represented directly in the collection’s prints, jacquards and accessories, while the snake can be seen in the clasp of a belt and cuts in select designs. A silk evening dress with a drop shoulder and elegant high neckline is elevated by an intricate Scarab-beetle print.
Outerwear includes a versatile unlined coat; scuba navy within and printed with oversize checks, bridging the trans- seasonal twilight zone between a light layer in autumn and an indoor coat for winter. Another new, statement coat is realised in camel, black and imperial blue, featuring a collarless neckline with so, exagerated sleeves.
Occasion pieces are reimagined for the Rodebjer woman’s quotidian wardrobe, with decadent blouses, organza dresses, dramatic cuts and silhouettes ending their way into new environments. Modern workwear, in the form of suits and sets, are updated in jewel tones
as well as rich, geometric, textured checks in minimalistic cuts. The colour palette includes cobalt blue, fuchsia and mustard yellow, balanced with earthy burnt reds, cooling mint and off white.
